The School of Foreign Languages Held a Seminar between School and Enterprise Experts Discussing the Revision of the Teaching and Training Programs for 2016 Undergraduates
On the morning of Dec.13, in No.2 Meeting Room of the School of Foreign Languages, an in-depth discussion was being held between school and enterprise experts concerning the revision of the teaching and training programs for 2016 undergraduates. As members of College Foreign Language Teaching Superintendence Committee under the Ministry of Education, Zhaowen—Dean of the School of Foreign Languages, Northeast University, Wang Yaguang—Dean of the School of Foreign Languages, Shenyang Industrial University, Tong Yuping, Dean of the School of Foreign Languages, Shenyang Chemical Engineering University, and some representatives from enterprises, as well as a few experts in our university were invited to the meeting. The seminar was presided by Mr. Dai Gongwei, vice dean of Foreign Language School.
Li Yanbin, as assistant director of Teaching Affairs Office and section chief of Teaching and Research Department, first introduced to the guests the guidelines, requirements and the specific arrangements concerning the revision of the teaching and training programs for 2016 undergraduates in our university. Yue Lizhi and Tang Weiping respectively reported to the experts about the preliminary plans concerning the revision work of the teaching and training programs for College English platform courses as well as the rough ideas and considerations concerning the revision of the teaching and training programs for undergraduates of four specialties, including Russian, Japanese, English and Chinese. When it came to the above teaching and training programs, the educational experts made their comments with reference to their practice at their schools; and the representatives from enterprises expressed their opinions concerning the standards and the abilities of the talents required by various enterprises and institutions. All present at the meeting made a thorough discussion and they reached extensive agreements, and thus the seminar was very fruitful as expected. Mr. Zhao Chengfa, dean of Foreign Language School, summarized the meeting by requiring teachers of all specialties to carefully take in and weigh up the advices of the experts in order to successfully fulfill the proceeding task of revising the teaching and training programs for all specialties. In the meantime, he expressed feelings of gratitude to the experts at the meeting on behalf of Foreign Language School.
This seminar held between school educational experts and enterprise representatives was arranged by our university in preparation for the revision work of the teaching and training programs for undergraduates. The meeting was held to listen extensively to the experts’ opinions, which served as an enlightenment to providing more explicit ideas about revising the teaching and training programs, laying a solid foundation for the smooth accomplishment of the revision work.
